Silhouette Artist Clay Rice:
Clay Rice is an award winning artist and children's book author. This is an annual Fall Event for us that our customers enjoy very much. (Clay usually comes in September/October - check back for this year's date!) In less than 5 minutes Clay will cut out a silhouette of your child before your eyes. You take home your silhouettes that day! They make perfect holiday gifts and grandparents love them! Many of our customers have their child or children done every year. Silhouettes are wonderful keepsakes.
Clay offers framing as well, he usually brings black, gold and silver frames that are available to purchase. He will frame your silhouettes for you while you wait. He also has double and triple frames so that sibling silhouettes can be framed together.
Clay will also be selling and signing copies of his award winning children's book, "The Lonely Shadow." If you buy a book package Clay will also include an extra copy of your child's silhouette which is placed at the end of the book. The book is all about a boy who is looking for his shadow and at the end he finds it - and your child will find his or her very own silhouette picture!

This holiday shopping event is usually held on the first Thursday of December every year in downtown Reading. Kick off the holiday season, meet old friends, support locally owned independent businesses and build community spirit! Enjoy entertainment and refreshments all around the block! Shop, nosh, stroll, sing, meet, indulge, pamper! There's something for everyone in our downtown!
